Meet our Hubble Hero House Charities: Star Outreach
We have one more charity left to feature. Say hello to Star Outreach.
Established in 2008, Star Outreach serves the city of Star and surrounding areas with a Food Bank, Summer Lunch program and a Holiday Adopt-A-Family program. Additionally, Star Outreach has several annual food drives, an annual School Supply Drive, and a Recycle-A-Bicycle program. All donations of money, food and supplies come from the local community and their generous partners.
Mission: Star Outreach's mission is to help feed and educate individuals and families in Star, Emmett, Eagle and Middleton with focus on food security and basic needs of clothing. They are supported in our efforts by city governments, local churches, civic organizations, businesses and individuals. Star Outreach advocate for Idaho’s hungry through collaborative partnerships to develop efficient solutions that strengthen individuals, families and communities.
"I was blown away when told we (Star Outreach) would be included as a charity receiving a share of the proceeds from the Hubble Hero House. As one of the over 50 volunteers of this organization, I deeply value the impact our services have on our community each week through our food distributions and in our 5 outreaches throughout the year. To have Don Hubble and Hubble Homes recognize our value and support our efforts in a way no other businesses has in our 10 year history, it truly warms my heart and I feel incredibly grateful for their commitment and generosity." said Star Outreach Executive Director, Diane Simi.
Diane Simi also gave us details on what the money will go towards. She explained: "The monies will go directly towards our building fund, boosting us to over $100,000 or 20% of our goal. We also plan to have a dollar for dollar match challenge at year-end with our donors to maximize the impact of the donation and continue to help us grow the donations to finish out our building fund in 2021."
